Iglesia De San Juan Church
Iglesia De San Juan Bautista (translates as St John the Baptist Church) is a beautiful church located in Merida, the recreational St John's Park just in front.
It is a church that is painted the captivating caribbean colour, and surrounded with palm trees, makes this the perfect subject to architectural and city photography.
I made my way through the narrow streets of Merida in time for sunset. With the sun setting behind the church I was hopeful that the backdrop of this colonial church would be filled with colour. A tropical downpour earlier that day meant that the streets were wet, with many deep puddles scattered around. With certain impassable streets, I eventually arrived at the Iglesia De Saun Juan Bautista.
Using this deep puddle to create a stunning reflection in the foreground, the lush yellow of the church and green of the trees, contrast with the soft blue sky.
