Catbells Clouds

from £30.00

Standing at the summit of Catbells, I had been taking photographs from the top of one of the Lake District's more manageable mountains for about twenty minutes, in clear morning light. Then, slowly but surely, clouds began to form below me towards Derwentwater.

I set up the tripod and waited for the optimal moment just before the clouds got too thick to obscure the view. In this photograph, the two cloud sets frame Derwentwater perfectly, leaving an open space in which the lake is visible, whilst the foreground, basked in sunlight, gives the viewer a sense of place.
